1966 EB0 wiring loom

This bass has a standard loom for a mid sixties Gibson EB, and is accessible by removing the control cover on the reverse of the guitar's body.

1966 Gibson EB-0 bass wiring loom. Like other single pickup Gibson EB bass guitars, controls are just two potentiometers, one to control volume, and one for tone. In this case, these pots are identical: 500kΩ audio taper, numbered 1376546, (which signifies they were made by CTS in week 46 of 1965) with part numbers BA811-1053.

This circuit is wired slightly differently from early EB0s (see a 1962 EB0 wiring), but electronically it is identical. Note, by this stage, the control cavity has been enlarged (now a uniform size for all guitars and basses), and a metal shielding tray is fitted.

Bass has some finish cracks all over the body. See pic 4, I??ve tried to capture it. Very common for its age. No major blemishes, but not mint condition. Mute still works great, all original pickups still sound like they did in the 60s.
