Gibson EB2 Bass Players

Comedy act, the Three Twins. Al Douglas plays a custom order white Gibson EB2 bass, and Bill Bigger, a white Gibson ES350TD more (taken from Gibson Gazette July / August 1960) The bass is obviously an early example as it has the smaller headstock and back-facing banjo tuners. Despite the fact this bass had a custom finish, it is not a lefty - it is strung as a right handed instrument. Was it just held this way round for a symmetrical photo? Or did Al Douglas play 'upside down', Albert King style? comment

Jimmy Page with the Yardbirds and a Gibson EB2 bass; most likely a 1964 or early 1965 example. Page played bass, albeit briefly, for the Yardbirds in 1966 after Paul Samwell Smith (who played an Epiphone Rivoli) left the band.

This is a pretty rare bass from the famous 1980s 'Mint Collection' range made for Greco by Fuji-Gen - they don't come up for sale very often. Some of the later (from 1990?) models are designated as 'Clear Sound Project' but, judging from the headstock inlay and the tuners, this is a 'Mint Collection'. The serial number dates it to 1985
