The newly designed SB range of 1972 did away with the 1971 version's single-coil pickups, in favour of black plastic humbuckers. Each pickup is spring-mounted to a black plastic surround, so height adjustable. The SB humbuckers are potted (filled with resin), preventing examination of the windings. The images below show the pickup mounted in an SB bass, the pickup underside, and the components that complete the pickup assembly. Typical D.C. resistance for this pickup is around 6.2kΩ, front or back.

This bridge was pulled from a 1972 Gibson SB-450 from 1972. Almost impossible to find, this one is complete and fully functional. Overall condition is good with some minor pitting on the chrome. This has the upgraded for 1972 metal saddles (previously these were made of Delrin plastic).
