The potentiometers are dated the last week of December 1968, and the serial number is for 1969, making this an early '69 bass - which was Gibsons most sucessful year with the EBO - 3018 basses were shipped; more than any other year.
Notice the thin neck (on the back of the headstock), inlaid Gibson logo and solid headstock with crown inlay. Two point tune-o-matic bridge with chrome bridge cover and EB humbucker without surround directly at the end of the neck. This bass has closed gear tuning keys usually seen on the Melody Maker, and Kalamzoo KB1 and KB2 basses, but found on some EB0s too in the late 60's.
The EB0 shown in the 1970 bass catalogue is very similar to the model shown above, although the EB3 in the same catalogue is a split headstock model; and by the time the catalogue was released most if not all EB0s being shipped had the slotted headstock.
