Quite a few players and dealers have reported having speaker trouble when using an electric bass with one of the more reasonably priced amplifiers. Those deep tones shake the speaker, sometimes shattering it completely.
Dividing the load is the simple answer to this problem suggested by dealer Fred Walker of Baltimore, Maryland. Use of another speaker, hooked in series with your present amplifier, will eliminate the annoying trouble.
Extra speakers for this purpose can be obtained from any Gibson dealer. They come in an amplifier case, without the chassis, and can be purchased with 15 or 25 foot extension cords.
