Japanese-made machines generally fitted to Gibson's two entry level models the Kalamazoo KB bass, and the Gibson Melody Maker bass. Gibson were never too fussy about sticking to specifications, and if another component was in short supply, they would use whatever was at hand. These keys also found their way onto some EB-0 and even a few EB3 basses between late 1965 and 1969.
