The RD Artist came in several finishes, Natural (with maple fretboard), Ebony, Fireburst, and Antique Sunburst - all with Ebony fretboards. Fretless models were available from 1979 in Antique Sunburst and Natural. There was no difference in price for different finish options, or fretless. The last price list to feature the RD Artist was printed in July 1980.
